Carefully remove the old fixture to the ground and begin to replace the mounting bracket. It's recommended to replace the old bracket with the new fixture's rectangular mounting. A casting may also need to be secured to the ceiling and fastened to the fixture. It's best to follow the new fixture's proper instructions to install the light correctly. The wires will need to be identified and separated into two neutral wires to go inside the fixture and ceiling, with a half inch of the copper wires twisted with the neutral to create a strong lighting connection. Then the same method should be followed with the black hot wires. After secured, a wire nut should be screwed on to keep the wires and fixture together.
